Some news for celebrity weight loss!

Keira Knightley
The Pirates of the Caribbean star has always had a thinner physique, but she turned heads at the premiere of the latest Pirates installment last year looking like she had misplaced her beautiful curves. Knightley recently made headlines when she announced she was suing the UK's Daily Mail newspaper for suggesting that she suffered from an eating disorder and maintains that she leads a healthy and active lifestyle.

Nicole Richie
The once sidekick to socialite Paris Hilton has taken the spotlight herself for her dramatic weight loss. While dealing with a heroin addction, Richie's weight was on the heavier side. However, her frame has dwindled down to a reported 85 pounds. Rumours swirl that Richie recently underwent surgery to have gastric bypass surgery reversed, which she denied sternly on her myspace page. She has steadily denied having an eating disorder and entered rehab to help put on weight, only to check out days later.

Kirstie Alley
Kirstie Alley is a Fat Actress no more. The Cheers alum cast member once weighed over 200 pounds and vowed to lose weight and change her lifestyle.She turned to Jenny Craig to help shed the unwanted weight and became their official spokesperson. After losing 75 pounds, Alley appeared on Oprah in a custom designed bikini strutting her newly redefined body.

Britney Spears
The pop icon was once known for her tight abs and hot body which she showed off with barely-there costumes. After her first son was born, Britney was in no hurry to work the baby-weight off or regain her toned former figure.Regardless,she generated an enormous amount of buzz when she posed pregnant and nude on the cover of Harper's Bazaar August 2006 edition. Following the birth of her second son, she reportedly underwent a tummy tuck and started on an intense training (and subsequent partying) regimine to start her much anticipated comeback. She revealed her newly svelt figure with a surprise appearance on David Letterman in October 2006.

Jared Leto
The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman is no stranger to gaining and losing weight for movie roles. In 2000 Leto lost 28 pounds Requiem for a Dream. In contrast, he gained an astronishing 62 pounds for the controversial role of Mark David Chapman for the upcoming release of Chapter 27 (above). He lost the weight again by going on a liquid diet consisting of maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water.

Janet Jackson
The youngest Jackson sibling is known for her rock hard body and precision dance moves. However, when pictures surfaced of a barely recognizable Jackson in 2006 many critics questioned what had happened to the singer. Jackson reportedly had gained over 60 pounds for a movie role which eventually went to Mariah Carey. Janet maintains that she whipped her body back into shape with an exhaustive cardio regimine over several months and careful diet, however many doubt that she could have lost the amount of weight she did in that amount of time - speculating she might have had plastic surgery. Rumours also swirl that she had a six-pack air brushed on her abs to make them appear more defined during a promotion appearance for her lastest album release.

Oprah Winfrey
Oprah has never been afraid to discuss her on-going weight struggles. She has confessed on her show that her weight at one point peaked at a staggering 238 pounds and has tried numerous diets and exercise plans to keep her weight off including a 4-month liquid diet. She employs the support of her personal trainer,Bob Greene, to keep her in shape.

Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson has never been overweight in the public eye. However, she turned heads when she landed the sassy role of Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard and slimmed down to slide in to the legendary short-shorts. She flaunts her slimmer figure by washing a car in a string bikini in a revealing music video which covers Nancy Sinatra's These Boots are Made for Walking and was voted the #4 Sexiest Woman in the World by FHM magazine in 2006.

The incredibly skinny actress has no problem gaining weight for roles.When originally cast for Bridget Jones's Diary,she was told she was too skinny to play the part of a chubby Bridget and was forced to pack on the pounds for the role. Since then, she has gained weight for the sequel to Bridget Jones as well as Cold Mountain. As Roxy in the film version of Chicago, she underwent 10 months of gruelling training to reach professional standards and slimmed down once again.

Hillary Duff
The pop singer and former star of Disney's Lizzie Maguire has grown up in the public eye.After her contract with Disney ended, Duff launched her solo music and acting careers- endevours which kept the young actress on set and on tour for work. By 2005, it appeared Duff had lost a significant amount of weight. Duff shrugged off rumours of eating disorders and explained she had lost weight by leading a more healthy and active lifestyle.

Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan is almost as well known for fluxuating weight as she is for her partying ways. The young actress has been under constant scrutiny for her body image in recent years. Initially known for her curves, Lohan drastically dropped weight after being hospitalized for "exhaustion". Shrugging suggestions of an eating disorder off, she attributed her new stick-thin look to 'old-school working out'. However in recent months, Lohan has publically announced her quest to put some weight back on because she 'missed her curves'.

The once rounded-face Kate Bosworth raised eyebrows recently for her rapidly shrinking frame while promoting her movie Superman Returns. She frail looking actress claimed she was overworked and overcoming the emotional distress of breaking up with her boyfriend,Orlando Bloom and had lost a bit of weight-but nothing to worry about.Critics seems to disagree.

Christina Ricci
The former child actress and Monster star has certainly fluxuated in weight for her roles. Although the starlet used to suffer from an eating disorder but claims she doesn't worry about it anymore: "I don't worry about it anymore. I've been around long enough that people know what I look like."
